You can delete your Worthitt account at any time. Two ways, both equivalent. Deleting removes you from the app immediately — and we keep a staff-only record of the account afterwards, which this page explains in full before you decide.
It takes effect immediately — you are signed out and cannot sign back in.
If you can’t reach the app, email hello@worthitt.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We action it by hand, normally within a few days.
We keep an internal record of the account. Deleting your account removes you from the app; it does not erase you from our systems. That record is staff-only — it is never shown on a public page, never shown to another member, and never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
Why: so we can investigate abuse and safety reports after the fact, honour blocks and bans rather than letting someone reset them by deleting and signing up again, and keep the crowd scores honest. Those are the only reasons we use it for.
The record above is kept indefinitely, and deletion can’t be undone — there is no waiting period and no way to reactivate the account. If you want to use Worthitt again later, you would be signing up as a new member.
If you are in a place whose law gives you a right to full erasure, or you believe your record should be removed for any other reason, email hello@worthitt.com and we will deal with it individually.
Earlier deletions were done under a different promise: the name, email address, username and display name were erased at the moment of deletion. That promise stands for the accounts it was made to — that data is gone, and this change does not bring it back.
